Newly developed Logo for Staff
Recognition Week 2003! |
|
If you ordered a Staff Appreciation Week T-shirt, this is the Logo that will be on it! This was drawn by Karen Martin's son Kyle just for SAC! |
|
| UM Staff Advisory Council was formed to provide two-way communication between staff and the President on pertinent issues. If you have comments or questions about any subject related to UM System staff, please contact one of your Council members. They are there for you! | ||||

Words from the Chair...
My goodness, Spring really is here! With
the Missouri storms and all, but we'll take them if the flowers and green grass
come with them!! Your
Staff Advisory Council is excitedly pulling things together for the Staff Recognition
Week activities! We only have a couple more weeks to go but there's still time
to sign up for the Luncheon
and the Picnic. The deadline is May 5th, so we can provide a head count
for the luncheon, so please don't wait too much longer!
Staff Recognition Week News...
Trivial Pursuit:
As of this writing, we have 22
teams and a total of 163 signed up to play on Tuesday May 13th!! Last year
we had 18 teams with only 6 on each team. We expanded the number of team members
to 8 this year and it looks like a good thing we did!! Jim Weaver and his Trivial
Pursuit cohorts are working on those "special" categories. This year
the questions will also be displayed on a projector screen to help the teams
in the back of the room where it's sometimes difficult to hear the questions.
If you want to participate and need to get on a team, contact Janice
Perkins.
Luncheon: The Award Winners have been notified, (although they don't know exactly what they have won), and they are busy writing their bios and inviting guests to share their special day. We have 185 people signed up for the Luncheon so far and want to encourage everyone to join us in this special event. Again, the deadline is not until May 5th so there's still time to sign up so please plan to join us at Peachtree Catering Center on May 14th, to help honor your colleagues! This is what it's all about.
Picnic: We've had 23 people order shirts, and we hope everyone will wear them to the picnic on Friday, May 16th, at Bethel Park. We also hope you are busy designing your "Wacky Hat!" Mary Stone has lots of door prizes for us to give away which is always lots of fun! AndyMcAllister will be our MC again this year since he entertained us so well last year! Don't forget the Food Drive which will be going on all week with collections bins located in several UM System buildings. The Food Drive benefits the Central Missouri Food Bank.

Corner!
Staff Advisory Council meetings are open to all UM System Staff.
Meeting times are 9:00am-11:00am the second Wednesday of the month. The locations
are posted on our website on the "Events Calendar." Our SAC
website is by now familiar to everyone, I hope, but we add things all the
time, so give it a look again. Currently we have pictures of the Reception with
Dr. and Mrs. Floyd on the opening page! To see additional pictures, click on
the refresh button on the toolbar and the picture will change. Also that is
the only place to get the registration form for the Staff Appreciation Week
activities! If you have any questions about the Newsletter, Staff Appreciation
Week or the Staff Advisory Council, please send me an email!
