Words from the Chair...
Staff Recognition Week is fast approaching and the council is busy with preparations. Once again we will be saving money by having our luncheon at an off-site facility. One might argue that money leaving the University is not well spent, but worse in my opinion is paying too much for fewer food choices and most importantly, no dessert.

On a personal note, keep an eye out for e-mail claiming to be from your bank or internet service provider. Criminals will often send out e-mails that look legitimate, and claim that your account information needs to be updated. When you go to the legitimate looking site to "update" your account information you are really giving criminals your personal data. This recently happened to a relative of mine, he blissfully gave out his credit card number, name, home address, social security number, and checking account number. Only after calling his account provider to make sure that they got everything they needed, did he realize that criminals did indeed get everything THEY needed. No legitimate business will out of the blue ask you for this information. My advice... be skeptical.
