Words from the Chair...The Final Word...
This is the last time you will be hearing
from me as the Chair of the Staff Advisory Council but since I will still be
doing the Newsletter, you won't exactly be getting rid of me yet! I have really
enjoyed my duties as the Chair and I have had a wonderful council to work with!
As someone who has been on the council for 3 years, I can tell you that this
is one of the best councils we have had. Not that I am the best Chair, because
I greatly admired Suzanne Schoonover and David Olson, who served before me,
but this council as a whole has had a lot of fun and worked so well together!
It's always sad to say goodbye to out going members and exciting to welcome
new ones, but this year it is especially hard! At our October meeting we will
be saying goodbye to outgoing members: John Konzal, Mary Stone, and Janice Perkins.
Their ideas and team spirit will be sadly missed.
Your new Chair for SAC for 2003-2004 is Andy McAllister, who has been serving as my Vice Chair. Congratulations, Andy! The rest of the new officers and standing committee chairs will be elected at the October meeting.
The newly elected Council Members are: Andy McAllister, Richard Begemann, Rebecca Bohlmeyer and Rhonda Turner who will all be serving 3 year terms and Ken Brooks who will be serving a 1 year term for Mary Stone who is leaving her term one year early.

| Legend has it that if you catch a filling leaf on the first day of autumn, you won't catch a cold all winter long! So did anyone get out there and catch a falling leaf? |
Editor's Corner!
Staff Advisory Council meetings are open to all UM System Staff.
Meeting times are 9:00am-11:00am the second Wednesday of the month. The locations

We have pictures of the Staff Appreciation Week Events on the web site now!

Did you know these things about Fall??
The BRIGHTEST LEAF COLORS come after a rainy summer and a dry fall with cool nights. (Don't think Missouri will have the prettiest fall this year according to this equation!)
NATIVE AMERICANS believed celestial hunters slew the Great Bear in the autumn--and when his blood dripped onto the forests, it changed all the leaves to red.
There are 75,000 KINDS OF APPLES grown worldwide! Yum--think of all that apple pie!!
