Welcome to new Council Members!
Thanks to all those who voted in our recent election for new SAC Council Members! And congratulations to our winners: Bill Martin, Rusty Crawford and Debbie Taylor. The first meeting they will be attending will be October 13th and they will each serve a 3 year term. Bill has been with us for 2 years already and Rusty and Debbie are very excited to be joining us!

We also elected a new chair during our September meeting so congrats to Richard Begemann who will serve as the SAC Chair for the 2004-05 year!

Staff Awareness...United Way
The United Way Campaign is kicking off on September 24th with the Key Persons Breakfast at Memorial Union. At that time packets will be handed out that include the pledge cards the Key Persons will be handing out to their staff members. Each week, the names of all those people who return their pledge cards will be put into a drawing for some really great prizes that include: Mizzou Football Tickets, Mizzou Basketball Tickets, Weekend Getaways for Tan-tara and Lodge of the Four Season, free university parking, and lots more.

The annual Day of Caring for Columbia is October 1st and UM System staff will be going to the Central Missouri Food Bank. If you have not participated in this event in year's past, and you would like to learn more about it or join us, contact Brian McNamee.

Missouri Tigers are participating in Score Against Hunger again this year! Read all about last years' numbers and plans for this year at: http://www.centralmofoodbank.org/campaigns/score/

The System Marketing Commitee for United Way is finalizing plans for our big fund raiser for United Way. We will be taking tours through the new Paige Sports Arena! Mark your calendars for October 27th and 28th and plan to join us for a "behind the scenes" look at this beautiful new facility! The tour will cover the private suites, locker rooms for the atheletes, training pools and so much more than the average person attending an event will ever get to see! The tickets can be purchased early by contacting Donna Barnes with the Marketing Committee. Tours will be at 4:00pm and 4:30pm on Wednesday October 27th and Thursday October 28th, and will last 45 minutes to an hour. The cost of the tickets will be $10 per person and all proceeds go to United Way. Group numbers will be limited so purchase your ticket early to ensure your spot for this "once in a lifetime event!"

Congratulations to the following UM-System Staff members who have attained these milestones of service!
