Greetings!


The lazy hazy days of summer are upon us and that means several things; 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics has started, another school year is close on the horizon, parents are buying new school supplies for the kids, family vacations are coming to a close, Mizzou football practice is in full swing, fresh tomatoes are abundant, and cooler weather is still weeks away. 

August is also the time of the year that UM SAC announces its slate of new SAC nominees for council membership in 2008-2009.  The slate of new nominees will be finalized at our UM SAC August meeting and introduced to you in a few short weeks.  Four positions will be filled this election year.  With Fall fast approaching, I would also like to remind you that it is time for United Way 2008 Campaign.  In this newsletter, information is provided on how you can participate in the UM United Way Day of Caring ~ September 5.  This is a wonderful opportunity to donate a few hours of time to those less fortunate. 

Our next regularly scheduled UM SAC meeting is Friday, September 12 at 8:30 a.m.  As always, we welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions.  We are here for YOU!

Staff Advisory Council meetings are open to all UM System Staff. Meeting times are 8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. the second Friday of the month. The location of each meeting changes, so contact a council
member if you are interested in attending.
