UM Staff Advisory Council was formed to provide two-way communication between staff and the President on pertinent issues. If you have comments or questions about any subject related to UM System staff, please contact one of your Council members. They are there for you!
I would like to suggest that every UM Employee think about running for UM-SAC. UM-SAC will be electing three new members in August. You can make a difference by being a voice for all UM Employees. If you are interested in running, membership qualifications are listed in the Bylaws on the UM-SAC Web Site.
It is time for the UM System Staff Advisory Council elections. There are three positions of 3 years to be filled, and one position of 1 year to finish the term of a departing member. Current President Richard Begemann would like to remind you that “you can make a difference by being a voice for all UM Employees.” You may nominate yourself, or a fellow employee. If you nominate someone else, please be sure to ensure their consent! The deadline for nominations is July 29th. You will find the nomination form at this web page.
You will find the bylaws on the SAC website. The following sections of the bylaws pertain to membership and eligibility:
New members, shall be elected each year, and shall serve a three-
year term. The number of members elected will be based on how many
members have fulfilled their terms.
No member shall serve more than two consecutive terms.
UM-SAC members must be “benefit eligible” employees below the
director level, and may not have a primary classification of Teaching and
Research (“Benefit eligible” includes 75 percent FTE with an appointment
duration of at least six months). Directors are eligible to serve on committees.
Please send in your nominations by July 29th.
Congratulations to the following UM-System Staff members who have attained these milestones of service!
