Words from the Chair

Greetings!

The 2006-2007 UM Staff Advisory Council (UM SAC) year has begun and we are off to a great start. Please welcome our new members - Megan Barney, Marcia Brewer, Megan Gill, and Toni Henley! We appreciate their willingness to serve on the Council and welcome their enthusiasm to make the Council the best that it can be.

In the near future the UM SAC will post to its website an on-line survey regarding the 2007 Staff Recognition Week (SRW). We ask that you take a little time to complete it. We want the 2007 SRW to be the best that it can be for all of you. Your response is very much appreciated!

Before closing, I would also like to thank those members that completed their term this past year. A BIG thank you goes out to Richard Begemann, Becky Bohlmeyer, CJ Smith, and Rhonda Turner. UM SAC couldn't have accomplished what it did without their gracious support.

Don't forget, we are here for YOU! Your comments, concerns, and suggestions are important. Let us know what we can do for YOU!

United Way Campaign 2006
Here is a run down of information relating to the various fundraising efforts for
United Way Campaign 2006
Campaign 2006 goals:
  • UM System set our goal at $53,000
  • United Way set UM System’s goal at $55,620
  • Amount raised to date - $50,336.75 (we’re $2,663.25 away from our goal, and $5,283.25 from the goal that United Way set for us – we’d love to make the higher goal!)

    Trivia Night/Silent Auction – $1,910.00
    Mizzou Volleyball Night
    Saturday, November 4
    6:30 p.m. at the Hearnes Center
    $2 admission with coupon - $1 of that ticket will go to United Way

    The campaign doesn't officially end until Friday (November 10th). YOU can still make a difference in the lives of many people by making a donation to this campaign. If you have lost your pledge card, call Katherine Schroeder at 882-4591. YOU can still help meet UM's goal for 2006.

    Staff Advisory Council meetings are open to all UM System Staff. Meeting times are 8:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. the second Friday of the month. The location of each meeting will change in 2006-2007, so contact a council
    member if you are interested in attending.
