UM Staff Advisory Council Members 2007-2008

Words from the Chair

Greetings!
Autumn is in the air with a change in temperatures, a few trees are starting to turn to their beautiful bronze colors, and our third ranked MIZZOU football team is providing exceptional excitement with each game.  GO TIGERS!!!  Hope all of you are enjoying the cooler evenings, slowing down of yard work, harvested fruits and vegetables from your gardens, Mizzou sports, your children’s fall activities, and the gorgeous harvest moons.

October starts our new UM SAC calendar year and your line-up of council members promises to serve you to the fullest and have a very productive year.  Your returning SAC council members for 2008-2009 are Megan Barney, Nathan Billings, Marcia Brewer, Toni Monsen, Beth Monson, and Kevin Summers with newcomers Karla Dowd, Joan Goodwin, Beth Perrin, and Amy Andrews joining the team. During our September meeting, the council voted Toni Monsen as your new Chair. Congratulations Toni!

I want to extend a sincere thank-you to council members going off the council this year; Megan Gill, Laura Roth, and Rebecca Wall for their expertise and proficiency while serving you the employees of UM.

This year's United Way "Day of Caring" was a wonderful success. Each of you should have your pledge card for this year's campaign. If you have not yet turned in your pledge card, please turn it in soon so that you can be part of the weekly drawings and make a difference in many lives.  YOU really can make a difference! UM SAC is currently selling GO GREEN bags.  Sales are brisk with all profits going directly to United Way.  Thanks again to Laura Roth for bringing this idea to the SAC table and encouraging us to pursue a good cause in more than one way.  Contact Laura Roth or Mary Ann Ihler for your University of Missouri ~ GO GREEN bag today before they are all gone.

Our next scheduled meeting is Friday, October 10th at 8:30 a.m. in the President's Conference Room, 321 University Hall. As always, we welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions. If you have time, please join us.  We are here for YOU!

Warm regards,
Mary Ann

Words From the Editor

Greetings from your SAC Newsletter editor.  I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to my fellow SAC members for allowing me to serve as newsletter editor for the past year and to serve on SAC for the past three years. I have had a great time working with you all. If you are a UM System employee who is looking for a good way to become involved with the University, then you could not ask for a better group of people to work with than the members of SAC. As editor, I hope the content of the newsletter has been both informative and at times entertaining.

Best wishes,

Rebecca Wall
