Words from the Chair...

I am excited to have been elected the new UM-SAC Chairperson. At the October meeting we had the UM-SAC elections and we have a very good governing board. We have two new members Deborah Taylor and Rusty Crawford, whom I believe will benefit UM-SAC immensely. Bill Martin was also reelected.

UM-SAC will do our best to keep all UM employee's informed on the Budget, Benefits and Retirement decisions. I would like to personally thank all the volunteers whom worked at the Central Missouri Food Bank for the Day of Caring. If you have any questions or concerns, please call or email any of the UM-SAC members.

I would like to personally thank our two outgoing members Donna Barnes and Ken Brooks for their service to UM-SAC.

Richard Begemann

Staff Awareness...United Way
The annual Day of Caring for Columbia was October 1st and UM System staff went to the Central Missouri Food Bank. We had a total of 76 volunteers this year. Here is a note from Bruce Shockley of the Central Missouri Food Bank:

This year, your group repacked 35,057 pounds of food. That is simply amazing. Thank you again from the depths of my heart."

UM System United Way Fund Raiser:
The first tour of the Paige Arena was October 15th and was a wonderful success! About 40 of us got to tour this really beautiful facility. There are still tickets available for the second date, October 28th! To obtain a ticket or for more information, contact Donna Barnes with the Marketing Committee. Tours will be at 4:00pm and 4:30pm on Thursday October 28th, and will last 45 minutes to an hour. The cost of the tickets will be $10 per person and all proceeds go to United Way. Group numbers will be limited so purchase your ticket early to ensure your spot for this "once in a lifetime event!"
