Words from the ChairSalutations! I would like to thank those individuals who agreed to be considered for one of this year’s vacancies on our Council. We had three nominations in the exempt category and two nominations in the non-exempt category. Since we only had two slots open in the non-exempt category, an election wasn’t necessary. Beth Monson has agreed to fill the one-year term in the non-exempt category. Antonia Jones has agreed to fill the three-year term in the non-exempt category. The three nominees in the exempt category include Nathan Billings, Bharath Srinivasan, and Kevin Summers. Ballots were mailed out earlier today. Please review the included biographies, mark your selections, and then return your ballot to Marcia Brewer via campus mail. If you have any questions, please give her a call. Marcia can be reached at 882-3208. Ballots are due back on Monday, September 17th, 2007. Don’t forget that the 2007 United Way Campaign is underway. Our annual “Day of Caring” is this Friday, September 14th, 2007. There are many opportunities to support this year’s campaign so stay tuned. Our next scheduled meeting is Friday, September 14th at 8:30 a.m. in the 205 Conference Room, MOREnet. As always, we welcome your comments, questions, and suggestions. We are here for YOU! Warm regards, Rusty |

United Way Campaign 2007School is in session, football is off to a great start and the annual United Way Campaign is upon us. This year's theme "Right Now" emphasizes the continuing needs of Mid-Missouri residents and the funding requirements that the campaign must meet. The joint, University Campaign goal has been set at $575,000 - a 4.7% increase over last year's achievement. Please help us continue to make this a successful campaign and a better community. The campaign's "Day of Caring" will be September 14. We already have more than 50 volunteers who have signed up for a shift at the Area Food Bank but can still use more. Remember, time spent at this event will be counted as time worked. Volunteers will work one-half day. Lunch will be provided on location. Contact Brian McNamee at 882-2316. The campaign "Kickoff" will be on September 27. Area coordinators will be attending a general orientation and training program at Jesse Hall in the early afternoon. Individuals will be contacted by members of the Steering Committee with details. Anyone who can help out is again encouraged to join one of our campaign committees. Please contact Bill Edwards at 882-3006 for an assignment. If you know of a business or service willing to provide a gift for use as a participation incentive, please contact Laura Roth at 882-5054. More details will be announced once the campaign begins. ![]() |
